Get your Open Water certification. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wonderous world beneath the waves, this is where your journey begins.
 
What You Learn
The SSI Open Water Diver 3 day course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development (online study mostly, this can be done anywhere) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
 
If you’ve tried diving through a discovery dive experience the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full Open Water Diver course certification.
 
Prerequisites
To enroll in the Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must;
Be 10 years or older
Be in reasonable shape and able to swim.
 
The Fun Part
The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you’ll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you’ll make at least five pool dives and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your Instructor.
 
All learning materials are included
SSI’s Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. Then we’ll jump in to the sea to practice these skills with your instructor. Later, as a certified diver, you can use the course materials as a reference guide for future diving adventures and to review what you learned.
 
SSI's Online Training program is designed so that you can learn the academics at your own pace when it is convenient for you. You can complete the academics online or in the classroom when you arrive here (but who wants to sit in a classroom in the tropics?).  The MySSI application is the perfect way to pre-study the academics on either a smartphone or a tablet.  Contact us for more details. 
 
In the SSI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use the basic scuba gear.  Here in the Gulf of Thailand the equipment you wear will be appropriate for the tropical water temperatures we experience year round.
 
The time required to complete the course may vary depending on class size, student aptitude, logistical considerations and student performance, although it is typically completed in 3 days.
 
PLEASE NOTE: This price includes light breakfast, lunch, drinks and snacks (on the boat), equipment, boat admittance, insurance and instructor fees. For Vegan food there will be 200 THB extra charge/day. 
 
**Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance for a partial refund, and more than 24 hours in advance for a full refund. The latest time to cancel is 8:00 PM the day before your dive—cancellations after this time will not be accepted. No-shows or late arrivals will not be refunded. We offer seasickness medicine before boarding; if you choose not to take it and are unable to dive due to seasickness, no refund will be issued. Refunds will also not be given for personal decisions to stop diving.
