This trip includes 3 dives at the following dive sites: Sail Rock, South-West Pinnacle and Chumphon Pinnacle.

Sail Rock

With its sheer abundance of schooling fish making it probably the best and most famous dive site in the Gulf of Thailand, this large pinnacle (which begins above sea level) provides a superb wall dive effect.

Together with a number of surrounding smaller pinnacles, Sail Rock offers an amazingly varied topography. The largest pinnacle hosts the famous Chimney, a large vertical swim-through with its deepest entry point around 18m, reaching the top at around 8m.

Whilst a variety of larger pelagic fish including Barracuda, Mackerel form huge schools around the rock, present on the rock itself is an incredibly varied ecosystem formed by countless species including Groupers, Wrasses, Snapper, Batfish, Angelfish, Damselfish.

Numerous interesting species of marine life such as Scorpionfish, Moray Eels, Shrimps, Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs can also be found both on the wall and amongst the hard and soft corals.

Depending on season and conditions, Sail Rock is also one of the Gulf of Thailand’s sites most commonly visited by the world’s largest fish, the immense Whale Shark.

South West Pinnacle

This site, situated to the South West of Koh Tao, consists of several submerged pinnacles, the shallowest of which starts at a depth of around 7m. These pinnacles are alive with an abundance of Anemones, Sponges and Fan Corals.

Numerous species of pelagic fish, including Barracuda, Mackerel, Batfish and Rainbow-Runners can be observed patrolling the open water that surrounds the main group of pinnacles, whilst it is always interesting to explore in and around the pinnacles themselves as they host large Groupers, Sweet-Lips and shoals of Scad and Snapper.

Chumphon Pinnacle

This site, situated to the South West of Koh Tao, consists of several submerged pinnacles, the shallowest of which starts at a depth of around 7m. These pinnacles are alive with an abundance of Anemones, Sponges and Fan Corals.
