It's the early stages of the monsoon season, but still great diving at Sail Rock

Although the first signs of the monsoon season are upon us, with a mixture of overcast skies, moderate winds and scattered rain showers, the diving conditions at the wonderful Sail Rock continue to provide excellent diving.

As is the norm for this time of year, visibility is variable, ranging anywhere from 5 - 25m on any given day, whilst water temperature has dropped no more than a couple of degrees to a very comfortable 29°C

In addition to the large schools of Teira Batfish and other resident reef-dwelling species, there are vast numbers of juveniles of many species such as tiny Barracudas and even Talang Queenfish (Scomberoides Commersonnianus).

The past month has also seen a huge increase in encounters with the incredible, yet elusive Whale Shark (Rhincodon Typus), a number of which have been photographed and submitted to the Ecocean Whale Shark Project for identification.
